Bunions

A bunion/hallux valgus is a bone protruding from the inside of the big toe, creating a prominent bump on the inside of the foot around the big toe. This bump deforms the big toe moving the toe towards the second toe and in some cases the big toe may rest over or under the second toe.

A Tailor’s bunion forms on the outside of the foot towards the joint at the little toe. This bump forms as the little toe moves towards the big toe.

Bunions can be hereditary or cause by arthritis. But, the most common cause is the wearing of tight, pointed shoes that over time constrict the toes and push the bone outward.

How will the insoles help?

Our insoles lift the foot’s arch and relieve stress on the cords that align the big and small toe and it also relaxes the toes and puts less stress on the bunion. The insole will distribute the weight properly from heel to toe allowing the foot to lay properly and allow the bunion to heal.
